HOWARD, Wis. (WBAY) – The Brown County Fire Investigation Task Force hosted a controlled burn training in Howard on Wednesday.
It focused on electrical fires, natural gas fires and structural inspection. Officials say the training also teaches crews how to spot if a fire has been started on purpose.
“One of the really important things we look for is burn patterns,” said Brandon Dhuey of the Brown County Sheriff’s Department. “And by doing a gasoline pour simulation, you’ll actually see where the fire started and the trail it took.”
The training was a partnership between Brown County and Unified Science and Investigations, a private fire investigation company.
