GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – The Green Bay Packers top Forbes’ list of the NFL’s best fans.
Their findings are based on a number of things. Factors include the number of people who watched or attended a game, merchandise sales and social media reach. To account for bandwagon fans, Forbes used three years of data and considered both the numbers and trends.
Forbes cited a Nielsen Scarborough survey that found 83 percent of Green Bay adults identified themselves as a fan that watched, attended or listened to a Packers game in the last year. That’s 12 more points than the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team with the next highest number of fans.
When it comes to social media, the Packers have 6.6 million followers between Facebook and Twitter. The team has more non-Green Bay social media fans than 28 other teams have total fans.
Packers fans also topped Forbes’ list in 2014.
