MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) – The best tap water in Wisconsin is in Green Bay.
On Wednesday morning, Green Bay Water Utility won a “best tasting water” award at the 31st annual water taste test, held by the Wisconsin section of the American Water Works Association.
More than 10 municipalities from across the state participated in the contest. A panel of judges examined the taste, smell and appearance of each entry before picking the winner.
WIAWWA says this is the first time Green Bay has won the state competition. The city can now enter its water in the North American competition, held next spring in Philadelphia.
Green Bay gets its water from Lake Michigan. It is treated through a multi-step process before being pumped to the city’s residents.
