GREENFIELD, Wis. (AP) – A Greenfield woman says she’s fighting to keep chickens in her backyard because they are therapeutic.
Local health officials however, say the six chickens have to go because they are not allowed in the city. They’ve given Susan Tubic 30 days to get rid of them.
Tubic tells WISN-TV (http://bit.ly/2cLJL9v ) she tried to explain to city leaders at a recent hearing that the chickens are therapeutic for her partner who served in Afghanistan and has an autoimmune disease.
The chickens don’t have an official designation similar to therapy animals. But, Tubic says she’s not letting them go without a fight and promises an appeal.
