APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) – Appleton is one of the best places to live in the country, according to a new ranking from Money magazine.
The city is ranked 24th on the list.
“People move to Appleton for the affordable housing, low crime, and family-friendly activities,” reads the listing for Appleton.
The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, the Mile of Music Festival, and the children’s museum are among the reasons Appleton made the list.
“We’re thrilled to be recognized on this prestigious list and to add this to the growing number of honors Appleton has received in the last few years,” said Mayor Tim Hanna. “From our thriving downtown to the exciting growth on our riverfront, Appleton is joining the list of places people want to be.”
Money said the areas for concerns include the cold winters, lack of diversity, and the slow job growth.
