GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Green Bay’s Jefferson Elementary School was on lockdown Monday morning due to a “police situation” in the neighborhood, according to a Green Bay Area Public Schools spokesperson.
The “secure the building” was in effect from 10:40 a.m. to about 12:40 p.m.
The Green Bay Police Department says officers were looking for a wanted person near the school. They didn’t find the person, so the search was ended. Police haven’t identified the person or said why they’re wanted.
“The precautionary secure the building for Jefferson Elementary has been lifted, and the community situation is resolved. Dismissal will proceed this afternoon as normal,” reads a post on the Green Bay Jefferson Facebook page.
