BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) – A Suamico man who is charged in connection to a finger-chopping ritual has waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
Jonathan Schrap, 24, appeared in Brown County Court on Wednesday morning. He’s charged with mayhem and second degree reckless injury, both felonies.
Warning: some of the details in the story below are disturbing.
Authorities say on Aug. 27, Schrap chopped off a friend’s pinky with a machete, gashed her arm and drank her blood with her permission. The woman told investigators it was part of a “ritualistic memorial” to commemorate a deceased member of the Juggalos, the name given to fans of the Detroit rap duo Insane Clown Posse.
Two others were questioned by police in connection with the crime, but one was later released. The other, 23-year-old Preston Hyde, remains in Brown County Jail on a probation violation.
Schrap is scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 6, when he is expected to enter a plea.
