Four Wisconsin firefighters to be honored at National Memorial

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WBAY) – Four fallen firefighters from Wisconsin will be honored at the National Memorial Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016.

The ceremony honors 79 firefighters who died in 2015, and 33 who died in past years.

Here are the Wisconsin firefighters who will be honored:

Leslie W. Fryman, Rosendale Volunteer Fire Department

Fryman was responding to a garage fire when he passed away in a fire truck. He was 58-years-old.


Lawrence W. Millard, Endeavor Moundville Fire Department

Millard was 56-years-old when he passed away.


Michael “Peanut” Miller, Green Bay Metro Fire Department

Miller was found unresponsive by fellow firefighters at Station 3 on June 20, 2015. He was 45-years-old.


Dale Wege, Pine Lake Volunteer Fire Department.

Wege was found unresponsive following an EMT run. He was 59-years-old.



The service is 9 a.m. Oct. 9 at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
