Two girls seriously injured when dogs attack

BROWN DEER, Wis. (AP) — Two girls are recovering after they were attacked by two dogs in a Milwaukee suburb.

Authorities say the two 14-year-old girls were mauled by two pit bulls in Brown Deer late Thursday afternoon. WISN-TV ( ) reports the dogs lived with one of the girls.

An officer responding to the attack shot the dogs. One died at the scene. The other was turned over to animal control officers to be euthanized.

The girls were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but are expected to be OK.
