MARINETTE COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) – A Crivitz man accused of arranging plot to have his son and his daughter-in-law killed has entered a plea of not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.

Robert Dettmering appeared in court Monday for an arraignment hearing. He’s charged with two counts of attempted homicide.

A criminal complaint says Dettmering offered a man $10,000 to kill his son and his son’s wife. Officials say the motive was a property dispute.

Dettmering was arrested following an undercover sting by the Wisconsin Department of Justice.

An evaluation of Dettmering’s mental health is due by Jan. 6, 2017, according to online court records.
