St. Vincent de Paul cuts ribbon on Dig & Save Outlet Store

The Dig & Save Outlet Store charges by the pound, not by the item

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – For all you bargain shoppers out there, a grand opening in Green Bay should catch your attention.

St. Vincent de Paul opened the Dig & Save, an outlet store 2121 Van Deuren St., near the corner of University and Danz avenues.

It differs from other St. Vincent de Paul thrift shops, because it charges shoppers by the weight of their items, not by the item itself.

Different categories, like dishes, clothes or plastics are weighed and charged by the pound.

Organizers say this branch of the store is a great way to bring people together to shop in a unique environment.

“The neat thing for us is, not only does it provide us extra revenue for our programs but it’ll also help us dump less in the landfill sites so we’re going to be greener,” St. Vincent de Paul Executive Director Bill Gosse said.

The store opened Saturday but held its ribbon cutting ceremony Monday morning.
