Horse shot in Winnebago County


WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) – A horse is recovering after suffering a gunshot wound in Winnebago County.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating whether it was an accident or a “deliberate act.”

On Friday, Sept. 30, deputies were called to the 4400 block of Oregon Street in the Town of Black Wolf for a complaint of a horse being shot.

Deputies confirmed the horse had suffered a gunshot wound.

Officials said they checked the area and found “nothing out of the ordinary.”

The horse has been treated for its injuries.
