APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) – Gov. Scott Walker stopped at some Wisconsin public schools Friday that have made headway in the areas of health and wellness.
In Appleton, he cut the ribbon on the “Don’t Quit” fitness center at Badger Elementary.
“You’ve got a school where they’ve taken the statewide health awards — they’ve gotten a gold the last couple of years — they’ve done Jump Rope for Heart, they’ve done the Play 60, they’ve been really engaged and involved,” the governor said, “and it’s nice to see them now have a fitness center to take that up to the next level.”
The governor also made stops at Kenosha and Milwaukee schools with the same program.
