Low-income residents urged to apply for help with winter heating costs

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Wisconsin Public Service is reminding low-income residents to apply for winter heating assistance.

The Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program helps eligible residents pay heating and electric bills through the federally funded Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.

The program helps more than 207,000 households each year, according to WPS.

Customers must meet eligibility requirements for energy assistance.

The energy assistance program runs through May 15, 2017.
