jobs economy down

RIPON, Wis. (WBAY) – TreeHouse Private Brands has set a date of November 18 to stop production at its cookie factory in Ripon. The factory will permanently close on December 2.

The company announced last May it intended to close the plant by the end of the year.

Fifty-one employees will be affected. In a letter to the state Department of Workforce Development, the company says they’ll be laid off in two phases as the production ceases and the plant closes.

Most of the employees are packers. The list also includes four mixers, three oven operators and three cleaners.
