BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) – Brown County is working with UW-Green Bay and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College to create a STEM Innovation Center.
The center focusing on science, technology, engineering and mathematics would be located in Brown County’s Research and Innovation Park near UW-Green Bay.
County Executive Troy Streckenbach says the initiative is designed to help fill the current skills gap for scientists and engineers in our area.
“It’s a community collaboration of government, non-profit, for-profit, higher education all coming into one center,” Streckenbach said, “creating an ecosystem where young minds can interact with higher education and adults in private sector.”
Along with a degree program, the new facility will give UW-Green Bay space to expand its science and engineering programs.
There’s no word right now when the center could open.
