OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) – Canadian rock band Barenaked Ladies will perform on opening night of next summer’s EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh.

Barenaked Ladies have sold more than 14 million albums, known for songs like “If I had $1,000,000,” “One Week,” and “The Big Bang Theory” theme song.

EAA says lead singer Ed Robertson is an avid pilot rated for both land and seaplanes. “The fact that the band has a close connection to flying makes it a great choice to play in front of aviation enthusiasts from all over the globe,” EAA Vide President of Communities and Member Programs Rick Larsen said in a statement.

Robertson reacted, “This means I’ll finally be able to make it to the show!”

The concert takes place July 24 in Boeing Plaza after the afternoon air show. It’s free to everyone attending the opening day of EAA AirVenture.

The 65th annual EAA convention runs through July 30.

Next summer will commemorate the 90th anniversary of Charles Lindbergh’s solo flight across the Atlantic; the 25th anniversary of the EAA Young Eagles program; and the Year of the Bomber, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the 8th Air Force and the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo.
