Gov. Walker NEW Plastics

LUXEMBURG, Wis. (WBAY) – Gov. Scott Walker visited NEW Plastics in Luxemburg to announce new grants for manufacturers.

The Wisconsin Fast Forward grants are designed to train current and new workers with specific skills that are needed right now in the manufacturing field.

NEW Plastics directly benefited from a grant awarded to Northeast Wisconsin Technical College which provided training to 19 of its employees.

“It’s just a good example of how we’re trying to help manufacturers and other businesses, but manufacturing is a big part of it. IT and healthcare being other components as well to get the training for people to hire as many people as possible,” the governor said.

Grants range from $5,000 to $400,000.

Manufacturing companies must submit applications by December 7.
