HOBART, Wis. (WBAY) – The Village of Hobart celebrated the beginning of construction on a new retail center.
Centennial Centre Marketplace will be built on Centennial Centre Blvd. near Highway 29.
The marketplace is part of the village’s master plan for a new downtown, which is looking to attract millennials and empty-nesters.
The first tenants include a veterinary clinic and chiropractor. Other units are available to lease.
It’s designed for future expansion, and village leaders want it to be somewhere people can work, shop and dine.
“We have well over 1,500 residents in this square mile — less than a square mile — and of course the existing and established northern neighborhoods in Hobart, too, that are all really excited to get their new downtown,” Village Administrator Andrew Vickers said.
The retail center is expected to open in the spring.
