Judge keeps teen’s murder case in adult court

WAUPACA COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) –  A teenager charged in the death of a man found in a Waupaca County ditch last spring will be tried as an adult.

Sixteen-year-old Zachary Hohn of Tigerton is accused of robbing and killing 25-year-old Matthew Pagel, whose body was found near Clintonville on April 11.

Authorities say the murder was over a drug deal.

Hohn’s attorney wanted the case moved to juvenile court but a judge rejected that request.

Hohn is scheduled to enter pleas to the charges next Tuesday.

A second suspect in the case, 24-year-old Adam Ozuna, pleaded not guilty to murder and robbery charges. He’s scheduled to have a status conference the same day Hohn enters his pleas.
