FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WBAY) – A former Fond du Lac pool supervisor accused of sexually assaulting an underage lifeguard was sentenced Friday to nine months in jail.

Ryan Ronayne, 25, pleaded no contest last month to reduced charges of felony misconduct and sex with a child 16 or older, which is a misdemeanor. He was initially charged with sexual assault of a child by a person who works or volunteers with children and child enticement.

Authorities say Ronayne began flirting with a 16-year-old lifeguard via text messages and eventually took the girl to his parents’ home where he lived and coerced her into performing a sex act on him. He was working as a supervisor of lifeguards at two community pools and as a part-time sheriff’s deputy in Green Lake County at the time. That sheriff’s office says he voluntarily resigned once the investigation began.
