APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) – Appleton Police say one man is dead and another is injured after a shooting on the city’s northeast side.

Police were called at 7:26 p.m. Saturday to the 800 block of North Oneida Street. They say two brothers were arguing when one shot the other in the leg.

The man who was shot in the leg then ran to another home on the 700 block of North Oneida Street to get help. Shortly after, police received a second 911 call that the man who shot his brother also shot himself in the head.

Both men, who are in their 20’s, were taken to a hospital. Police say the man who shot himself in the head died. The man who was shot in the leg was treated for his injuries.

Officers say there are no suspects at large, and there is no danger to the community.

“We do have officers on scene and investigators working with the family and doing a check of the neighborhood to see if anyone saw anything,” Appleton Police Sgt. Dave Lund said Saturday night.

Police haven’t released the names of the victims, pending an investigation.
