MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WBAY) – A 1-year-old boy from Milwaukee has been found safe after an Amber Alert was issued Sunday evening.

Authorities issued the alert for Taratino Carter at 7:43 p.m. Sunday and then cancelled it about half an hour later.

Taratino was in the back seat of a vehicle at 5:50 p.m. Sunday when his mother went into a convenience store on the 5900 block of of West Good Hope Road in Milwaukee and left the car running.

That’s when someone hopped in the car and drove off with the baby inside. The mother called police, who issued an Amber Alert.

A couple of hours later, someone who saw the Amber Alert noticed a car, which was still running, parked in an unusual manner with its lights on. It turned out to be the car police were looking for. The baby was inside, according to WISN-TV.

Taratino was unharmed and was reunited with his mother.

There is no word on whether anyone was arrested.
