Suspect in weekend armed robberies arrested


BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) – Ashwaubenon Public Safety says a man has been arrested for two weekend robberies.

Robert Morgan Neely, 24, Lakeville, Indiana, is being held at the Brown County Jail on two counts of Armed Robbery.

Police say they received information that a suspect in Sunday’s armed robberies of the Green Bay Country Inn and Suites and Ashwaubenon Super 8 Motel was staying at the Motel 6 on Shawano Avenue.

Early Monday morning, officers from Ashwaubenon and Green Bay executed a search warrant at the Green Bay motel. The SWAT team took Neely into custody.

Police say this case is still under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

Meanwhile, Green Bay Police continue to investigate a separate armed robbery that happened on the city’s east side early Monday morning. At about 1:26 a.m. Monday, officers were called to the University Avenue Shell at the corner of University and Danz Avenues. Police say the suspect pulled a knife and got away with some cash. He left the scene in a small, late 90s Nissan or Honda. The car is dark in color with a silver or gold rear bumper.
