Suspect tries to avoid arrest by running through Appleton hospital

APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) – A domestic violence suspect was arrested after a chase through St. Elizabeth Hospital Monday morning.

At 11:45 a.m., Appleton Police responded to the 1000 block of S. East Street after the suspect was spotted in the area.

Officers say the suspect ran into a shared basement of an apartment building. While police waited for backup, the man got out of the building and drove off in a car.

The car pulled into the St. Elizabeth Hospital, 1506 S. Oneida Street, parking lot and ran into the building. Police say the suspect, a 27-year-old Appleton man, ran through the hospital while trying to avoid arrest.

Hospital security staff helped police locate the suspect after a ten minute search.

The suspect was taken to jail on charges related to an Oct. 21 domestic violence incident and the chase through the hospital.
