GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Wisconsin Public Service is teaming up with the Salvation Army to offer some help against Green Bay’s winter chill.
Tuesday the utility donated 100 weatherization kits to be distributed by the Salvation Army in greater Green Bay.
The kits help WPS customers to be more energy efficient. They include window insulation kits, LED light bulbs and a power switch that can help save money on standby electricity.
“Any little thing that we’re able to help provide them with helps offset costs, their day-to-day costs, and provide weatherization kits is going to help reduce their utility bills and be able to afford food, clothing, whatever else they may need,” Salvation Army Major Robert Mueller said.
In total, WPS is distributing 2,000 kits throughout its service area. Each kit is valued at $20.
