Rep. Ribble awarded for work in Congress

MENASHA, Wis. (WBAY) – U.S. Rep. Reid Ribble has been rewarded for his work representing Wisconsin’s Eighth Congressional District.

On Thursday, the Republican received the ABC “Champion of Merit Shop” award. The Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin presents the award each session to members of Congress for showing leadership in the Senate or House of Representatives and a continuing commitment to the construction industry.

Ribble says he has always supported the men and women who wear hardhats, saying they lay the foundation for the economy in Northeast Wisconsin.

“To be recognized for the work that I did in Congress on behalf of construction workers here in Northeast Wisconsin is really meaningful to me,” he said. “It matters to me.”

Ribble is not seeking re-election in this year’s congressional race. Republican Mike Gallagher and Democrat Tom Nelson are vying for his seat.
