OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) – The Oshkosh Fire Department says a garage is damaged after a fire broke out at a hospital.

Firefighters were called at 8:46 p.m. Friday to Aurora Medical Center, 855 N. Westhaven Drive, for a report of a lawn mowing tractor on fire in an attached maintenance garage.

A security guard helped contain the flames before crews arrived. Firefighters put out the fire quickly but remained on scene for another hour to ventilate the smoke.

No one was hurt.

The garage has extensive heat and smoke damage. A nearby hallway also has smoke damage.

Firefighters say a working fire alarm and fire doors did their job to prevent further damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
