GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – A Green Bay woman was seriously hurt after police say she ran into traffic Wednesday morning.

The 51-year-old woman was hit by a box truck on the 2900-block of West Mason Street.

She was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her current condition isn’t being released.

Police say multiple witnesses told them the woman was running into traffic in the westbound lanes.

“The accident still remains under investigation at this point, to determine what happened out here. I can say at this point, based on what we have observed so far, that it doesn’t appear drugs or alcohol were involved in this accident,” Police Lt. Jody Buth said.

The driver of the truck, a 51-year-old man, is cooperating with the investigation.

Mason Street was closed much of the day for the investigation. Traffic was rerouted on a frontage road from Country Club Road to La Count Road.
