Their car collided with a dump truck at the intersection of County Highway U, also known as County Line Road, and County EE.

Hobart-Lawrence Police Chief Randy Bani says Dutter pulled out from a stop sign on U, failing to yield the right of way to the truck going west on EE. They collided in the intersection, and the car came to a rest in the northwest corner of the intersection.

The crash happened Friday just before 2 o’clock in the afternoon.

Two medical helicopters were sent to the scene but Dutter and Tritt died before they could be transported to hospitals.

The driver of the dump truck, a 34-year-old man from Larson, wasn’t hurt.

Chief Bani says the investigation into the crash isn’t closed.
