Student responsible for Kiel bomb threat in custody

KIEL, Wis. (WBAY) – Kiel High School was evacuated Monday morning after a bomb threat.

The school district says at about 8:15 a.m., administration was alerted to a “vague threat of a bomb scare.”

Police were called to the school and students and faculty were evacuated to the football field.

Kiel Police and the Kiel Fire Department conducted a sweep of the building and the perimeter, but found nothing.

Students were allowed back into the building at 10 a.m.

Kiel Police say the student responsible for the threat was taken into protective custody. The student was not identified.

The district says parents were notified of the situation through the district’s emergency alert system.
