Enjoy a free concert by Starlifter U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America at Door Community Auditorium, 3926 Highway 42, Fish Creek at 7 p.m. This is a family-friendly, all-ages event. Seating is open, and no tickets are required.

Festival Foods in Menasha, 1355 Oneida St., will provide complimentary coffee and donuts to veterans as it starts a free, weekly gathering, the American Heroes Cafe, from 8 a.m. to noon in the store’s upper mezzanine.

The public is invited to Neenah High School for a free Veterans Day celebration with band, choir and orchestra students and local veterans in Pickard Auditorium. Doors open at 1 p.m. The event starts at 1:30.

Immediate families of all active duty and retired military personnel get half off admission to the Neville Public Museum in Green Bay. Admission is always free for active duty and retired military personnel.

Admission to NEW Zoo is free for veterans, active duty military members and their families with ID to prove military status. The zoo is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

U.S. National Parks waive entrance fees on Friday for everyone, not just veterans, in recognition of Veterans Day.


Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar: Choose from a special menu of seven free entrees with military ID or proof of service, and also receive a $5 coupon for additional food or beverage purchases which you can use for the same or later visit.

You don’t need to be a veteran for this: Baskin-Robbins will donate 11 cents to the USO for every ice cream scoop sold as a cup or a cone Friday.

Buffalo Wild Wings will give veterans and active-duty military a free, small order of 10-12 boneless or traditional wings and a side of fries. Offer valid all day at participating locations.

Chili’s Grill & Bar salutes active military personnel and veterans with a free entrée from a select menu. Valid at participating locations.

Chipotle offers a buy one/get one free burrito, bowl, salad or order of tacos from 3 p.m. to store close for all active-duty, Reserves, National Guard, retired military, veterans and military spouses with ID.

Denny’s will give a free Build Your Own Grand Slam, which includes four breakfast items — including buttermilk pancakes, eggs, bacon, fruit or hash browns — to active, inactive and retired military personnel from 5 a.m. until noon with valid military ID.

Fazoli’s will give a free Build Your Own Pasta Bowl to veterans with a discharge card and active service members with ID or uniform.

It’s not on Veterans Day but Golden Corral will have Military Appreciation Night on Monday, November 14, from 5 to 9 p.m. for military retirees, veterans, active duty, National Guard or Reserves.

IHOP: Free stack of Red, White & Blue Pancakes — three buttermilk pancakes topped with glazed strawberries, whipped cream and blueberry compote — for any veteran or active duty military member from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Kroll’s East will give you a free regular hamburger and 20% off your dine-in bill with valid military, VA, or retired military ID, or VFW card, American Legion card or dog tags with drivers license.

At Little Caesars, veterans and active military members can pick up a free HOT-N-READY Lunch Combo, including four slices of deep dish pepperoni pizza and a 20-ounce Pepsi product, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with proof of service.

Stop in at Los Banditos for a free a la carte burrito, enchilada, tostada, two tamales, or an order of two tacos with form of military or veteran identification. You’ll also get a side of rice and beans and complementary soda or coffee

Free appetizer or dessert at LongHorn Steakhouse to anyone showing proof of military service. No purchase is required. Guests dining with veterans receive 10% off.

McDonald’s: Some restaurants in the country are offering free Big Mac sandwiches to veterans and active duty military members who present a valid military ID. This offer appears to be by restaurant or franchisee and not available at all restaurants. This is not a mobile app offer.

Free entree at Olive Garden to active duty military and military veterans from a special menu of six of the restaurant’s most popular items. Entrees include unlimited soup or house salad and warm garlic breadsticks.

Outback Steakhouse goes beyond Veterans Day, giving all active and retired military members a free Bloomin’ Onion and beverage on November 11, then from November 12 through December 31 offering 15% off the entire check for military personnel and their immediate families with military or veterans organization identification (excluding alcohol, taxes and gratuity).

The Pancake Place in Green Bay will give veterans and active service members a complementary meal and drink.

Some Panera Bread locations are offering Veterans Day deals, including a free bagel with cream cheese and coffee. This offer appears to be by location or franchisee and may not be available at all locations.

Perkins Restaurant & Bakery will give those who’ve served our country a free Magnificent Seven — 3 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon or sausage. Bring your military ID to participating locations.

Thursday and Friday, Red Lobster offers a free appetizer or dessert from a special menu to veterans, active duty and reservists with valid ID or proof of service.

Red Robin will give each veteran and service member with ID a free Red’s Tavern Double Burger — two fire-grilled beef patties, topped with melted American cheese, fresh lettuce and tomato with house-made Red’s Secret Tavern Sauce on a toasted sesame bun — served with Bottomless Steak Fries. No purchase necessary.

Starbucks invites active duty service members, reservists, veterans and military spouses to enjoy a free Tall Brewed Coffee on Veterans Day. Starbucks will also contribute $5 for every Veterans Day Starbucks Card or eGift purchased through Nov. 11 to support programs that help veterans use their skills, experience and commitment to create positive change in heir communities.

Texas Roadhouse is offering a free meal between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to all active, retired or former U.S. military from a choice of 10 entrees, including a 6-ounce sirloin and two sides plus a choice of soda, sweet tea or iced tea or coffee.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. TGI Fridays provides a free lunch menu item to veterans and active duty military personnel who show their military ID, up to a $12 value. Fridays lunch pairings are eligible in the offer as well.


Dollar General is proud to offer current military service members, veterans and their family members an 11 percent discount on all qualifying purchases both in stores and online on Friday.

Gordmans offers all military active duty, Reserves, Guard, retirees and veterans who show military ID or shop in uniform a $10 Gordmans Savings Card with any in-store purchase on Veterans Day and 15% off their entire purchase on top of regular value prices. Shoppers are also invited to donate to Operation Homefront, which provides wounded veterans and military families help with rent and utility payments, food assistance, home repairs and everyday essential.

Lowe’s offers a 10% Military Discount on personal purchases to the men and women currently serving in or retired from the Armed Services or their immediate family member. To qualify, present a valid Form DD214, military ID card or Veteran Identification Card (VIC).

Sleep Number is offering exclusive savings to current and past military personnel for orders in store or by phone through Nov. 14. Savings off full retail price. Must present a valid military or veteran’s ID. A portion of proceeds will be donated to Blue Star Families.

Walgreens customers who are veterans, active-duty military and their immediate family members, with a Balance® Rewards card and valid military ID or proof of service, will receive 20 percent off regular-price, eligible store items at any Walgreens nationwide.

Empire Beauty Schools give veterans and active military personnel a complementary service with their veteran or military ID.

Participating Grease Monkey Centers will offer free oil changes to veterans and active duty military on Veterans Day. Click here for a list of participating stores.

Here’s a deal for everyone: Purchase a service at a Great Clips salon on Nov. 11 and get a free haircut card to give to a veteran, who can redeem it for a free haircut between Nov. 12 and Dec. 31 with proof of military service. Veterans can get a free haircut on Nov. 11 or a free haircut card to redeem by Dec. 31. Limit one card per customer.

Meineke will provide a free, basic oil change to all veterans and active duty service members who present military ID.

All Green Bay and Fox Valley NewStyle Salons offer free haircuts to all military personnel and retired military with proper ID.

Red Roof Inn is giving veterans 15% off their stay any time through November 30. Book stays by phone or online using VP+ number 618669. Subject to availability; some blackout dates may apply.

Sports Clips Haircuts will give free haircuts to active-duty military and veterans with valid proof of service. It will also donate $1 per haircut service to support the Veterans of Foreign Wars “Sports Clips Help a Hero Scholarships” of up to $5,000 for service members and veterans pursuing an education at post-secondary institutions, including trade schools.

Super 8 increased its military discount to 20% off every stay during November and is introducing reserved parking at its motels for veterans at participating locations. Discount is available for reservations for current and retired military personnel and their spouses who book and stay at a participating hotel by July 31, 2017. Use rate code SML when booking. Valid military identification is required at check-in.
