Aaron Rodgers addresses presidential election

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is talking about the presidential election.

He spoke with reporters on Wednesday after Republican Donald Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton to become the president-elect.

“I went out and voted, and I knew it was going to be a historic night,” Rodgers said. “Either way, you had an outsider winning or the first woman to be president, so I thought it was an important night for our country. You know I think [it’s] really a message to the establishment, if you are looking at it from an objective point of view.

“I hope as a country we can now come together and work a little better with each other. Obviously there are some people, rightfully so, who are worried about the direction of our country now, but I think it’s an important time for us to come together and figure out how to work with each other.”
