NEENAH, Wis. (WBAY) – The community in Neenah had the opportunity on Wednesday evening to give their input on the future of Arrowhead Park.

The city would like to make improvements to the park at the south end of Little Lake Butte Des Morts now that it has access to another 30 acres, following the demolition of the Fox Valley Energy Plant. The land is seen as both a gateway to the downtown and a transition from the downtown to the waterfront.

It was the second of a series of meetings designed to get opinions from people about what they would like to see happen with the new space. The city and the developers will use the information to put a plan together before moving forward.

“The purpose of this project is to make a piece of land that was formerly a brown field and make it a productive piece of land that creates a major amenity of recreation and open space in the community,” said Ed Freer of Seh, Inc.

The next steps will be to put a phasing plan together to implement over the next five to 10 years.
