Woman arrested for OWI after crash on I-41


UPDATE: 5:30 a.m.

BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) – A 33-year-old woman who spun out on I-41 near De Pere Wednesday night was under the influence of alcohol, according to a report by the Wisconsin State Patrol.

The woman, who is from Green Bay, has been arrested for Operating While Under the Influence (2nd Offense).

The State Patrol says the woman was driving south on I-41 when she spun out and came to a rest on a ramp near Main St.

A 60-year-old grandmother who was traveling with her 5-year-old granddaughter was entering the ramp to merge on to the interstate and hit the rear end of the car.

Both drivers were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The child was not hurt.

The State Patrol says the 33-year-old Green Bay woman was not wearing a seatbelt.

The grandmother and her grandchild were buckled in.

The crash remains under investigation.

The crash happened at about 6:23 p.m. Wednesday.

BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) – Two people were hurt after a Wednesday evening crash on Interstate 41 in Brown County.

The Wisconsin State Patrol Fond du Lac Region says it was called at 6:22 p.m. to the southbound lanes at Scheuring Road near Green Bay.

A 33-year-old Green Bay woman was traveling southbound on I-41 when she somehow lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a wall. A second vehicle that was traveling up a nearby on-ramp then collided with the first vehicle.

The Green Bay woman was seriously hurt, although authorities say her injuries are not life-threatening. A 60-year-old woman who was in the second vehicle suffered minor injuries. A child who was in the car with the 60-year-old woman was not hurt.

The two right lanes of I-41 southbound were closed for about 20 minutes after the crash. The cause is under investigation.
