Dave’s ‘Fast 5 Pack Facts’: Packers at Titans

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WBAY) – As the Green Bay Packers (4-4) prepare to play at the Tennessee Titans (4-5), it’s time for Dave Schroeder’s “Fast 5 Pack Facts” on WBAY.com.

#1 Titans are Terrible at home: The Packers start a stretch of 3 straight on the road, but the Titans may be the worst home team in the history of the NFL. In the last 3 years, the Titans have beaten only one team not named the Jacksonville Jaguars at home (that team being this year’s winless Browns). Tennessee is 4-17 overall at home the last 3 seasons.

#2 Missing Matthews: Packers linebacker Clay Matthews will be missing a 3rd straight game and 4th this season with a hamstring strain. Green Bay has gone 1-2 without Matthews this year. They have given up less than 20 ppg with their star on the field this year, but more than 30 ppg in the 3 games he has missed.

#3 Super stats (without the wins): The Packers pass-happy attack minus Eddie Lacy and James Starks has netted some impressive stats without the wins. Aaron Rodgers 20 passing TD’s have him on pace for the 2nd-most in any season of his career. Jordy Nelson ranks #2 on the entire NFL with 7 TD catches and Davante Adams is nipping at his heels at #3 with 6 scores. But on the flip side, Green Bay has not scored a rushing TD since Week 2 (and Rodgers has both of the Packers’ rushing TD’s this year).

#4 Cook in the kitchen?: Tight end Jared Cook practiced this week for the first time since injuring his ankle in the home opener. But he  is OUT for today’s game. He was only limited in workouts this week and is getting closer to a return. WHEN Cook comes back, he could be the ultimate man-to-man coverage buster. The Packers have faced man defenses predominantly over the last few weeks.

#5 North up for grabs: The Packers may be off to their worst 8-game start since 2009, but the NFC North is right there for the taking as 5-3 Minnesota and 5-4 Detroit have both shown serious flaws. Injuries are catching up with the Vikings, who have lost 3 in a row, and the Lions’ 5 wins have all came after Detroit trailed in the final 1:30 of each game.

Prediction: Packers 29, Titans 17
