PULASKI, Wis. (WBAY) – The sister company of Carver and Marquis Yachts is eliminating its operations in Minnesota and moving that manufacturing to Pulaski.

Larson Boat Group says it will be adding jobs to build its Larson, Larson FX, Larson Escape and Striper brands of boats in Pulaski, consolidating operations with Marquis Yachts, Carver Yachts and Van Dutch brands.

Larson Boat Group president/CEO Rob Parmentier said it needed to reduce its footprint to stay competitive because of global economic challenges and changes in the marine market. “The existing infrastructure, skilled labor force, labor pool and current in-house capabilities are why we chose Pulaski.”

Larson Boat Group expects to shut down facilities in Little Falls, Minn., before April, 2017. It says employees will be offered jobs in Pulaski.

The St. Cloud Times reports the boat makers employ 141 people in Little Falls and 324 in Pulaski.

“This certainly will be a boost and benefit to the community of Pulaski,” Parmentier said in the statement.
