SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WBAY) – A dog named Lacy is safe following a dramatic rescue in Sheboygan.

On Tuesday, the Sheboygan Dispatch Center received a report that a dog fell over a cliff at the quarry in Jaycee Quarry View Park and was trapped in the water.

Sheboygan firefighters said they arrived on scene to learn Lacy had fallen off a 10 foot cliff, landed in the water, and was trapped on the ledge near the water line.

A Sheboygan firefighter was lowered to the ledge by a rope and harness.

Town of Sheboygan and Kohler departments were called to the scene to help. They launched Kohler’s boat from the beach and went out to help.

The boat arrived to find the Sheboygan firefighter waiting with Lacy in his arms.

The dog was “cold and wet, but uninjured,” according to the Sheboygan Fire Department.
