MANITOWOC, Wis. (WBAY) – Manitowoc Police say they are looking for a driver who hit a bicyclist with his car and then drove off.
It happened at 6:26 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of North 8th Street and Waldo Boulevard.
Police say the driver didn’t stop at a red light and hit the front tire of the bike, knocking the bicyclist into the street.
The victim and another witness told police that the driver got out of his car and checked the vehicle for damage but didn’t check on the bicyclist. Then, he sped off from the scene westbound on Waldo Boulevard.
The suspect is described as a short, heavy-set man in his late 40’s or early 50’s. Police say it’s possible he was driving a tan Buick.
