OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) – Even with the mild weather, the city of Oshkosh kicked off the holiday season Thursday evening with its holiday parade.
Families donned their Doctor Seuss attire for the parade’s Whoville theme from “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”
Organizers say the parade is helping people get into the holiday spirit, despite the unseasonable temperatures.
“The holiday parade tonight is one of the first ones in the area of the season,” said Jessica Sosnoski, manager of member relations for the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce. “I think people are just going to start getting into the holiday spirit after tonight because we’ve had such warm weather. I think we’re all forgetting that Christmas is coming up really fast.”
About 70 different businesses, bands and dancers took part in the parade, including some high school marching bands.
