MENOMONIE, Wis. (AP) – Police say they have a suspect in the death of UW-Stout student Hussain Saeed Alnahdi.

The 24-year-old student was assaulted last month in downtown Menomonie and died hours later from his injuries.

Police say the 20-day long investigation didn’t find any evidence his death was a hate crime. Alnahdi was from Buraydah, Saudi Arabia.

Police aren’t identifying the suspect but says the person is not from Dunn County and is not a student at UW-Stout. The case is being forwarded to the Dunn County district attorney’s office for criminal charges.

Alnahdi was a junior majoring in business administration. He started attending UW-Stout in 2015.
