GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Green Bay Police say two people are dead in what appears to be a murder-suicide on the 1200-block of Division Street on the city’s west side.
Officers say they were called at 11 a.m. about a male needing medical attention. When they arrived, they found a man and a woman dead. At least one had a gunshot wound.
Police say the call came from a person concerned about the welfare of someone in the house.
Police aren’t identifying the victims so that the families can be notified first.
They say the two lived in the house together but they’re still investigating how they’re related. Both victims are believed to be in their 50’s. Police also aren’t sure yet when the shooting happened or how long the people have been dead.
A pet cat was also found shot to death in the home.
“In the investigation, officers and investigators located evidence that led us to believe that this was a murder-suicide. Thus, we believe there is no threat to the community nor is there any danger to the community,” Capt. Kevin Warych, Green Bay Police Department, said.
A forensics team and the Dane County medical examiner are at the home now collecting evidence.
