Apple granted patent for foldable iPhone

SAN FRANCISCO, Ca. (KRON)—Apple may be bringing back an old, but popular style of cell phones with their newest design.

On Tuesday, the tech giant was granted the patent to a fold-able, flexible display screen.

Apple’s latest ideas could one day lead to a bendable iPhone much like the old-school flip phone.

The patent features a touch-screen smartphone with a design popularized by clam-shell phones, one that opens and closes like a notebook.

It’s unknown for sure if there is an iPhone flip phone in the works, but Apple’s patents often provide a glimpse into what the company is thinking for the future.
