Missing man found in Upper Peninsula after Silver Alert

Silver Alert

FLORENCE COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) – The subject of a Silver Alert from Florence County was found safe Monday afternoon in Stephenson, Michigan.

The Florence County Sheriff’s Office says a business called police about a man sitting in a truck outside their business for two hours. Michigan State Police and the Menominee County Sheriff’s Department figured out who the man was, and that people were looking for him.

The Silver Alert was issued Monday afternoon after the 87-year-old man left his home, driving off in his son’s pick-up truck, even though he hasn’t had a valid driver’s license in years. He left without any shoes.

Silver Alerts are issued for missing individuals believed to have dementia or other cognitive impairment.
