GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – The Green Bay Packers are hosting their annual community blood drive with the American Red Cross at Lambeau Field.
Donations of all blood types are being sought. Organizers set a goal of 325 units.
“We encourage people to come out if they are feeling good. Just out and about please come in, donate. We would love to see you come in and participate and be part of it,” Bill Hampton with the Red Cross said.
As we get deeper into the holiday season, the Red Cross says blood donations often fall off as people get busy with planning and traveling.
On average the Red Cross collects about 14,000 pints of blood every day to meet the need across the country.
The blood drive at Lambeau Field runs until 7 p.m. Wednesday.
All blood donors will be entered into a raffle for prizes.
This is the 12th year of the Packers and Red Cross’s partnership.
