GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Green Bay police are investigating why a car crashed into a business off Main Street Friday night. As of Saturday morning, officials say high speed and alcohol were contributing factor to the crash.

The scene unfolded at the corner of Main and Morrow streets. A car heading toward downtown went out of control and hit a building used by a food service distributor.

It hit the northeast corner by the entrance, destroying the railing and caving in part of the exterior wall.

The driver was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

The fire department told us the crash happened right in front of a police officer who was watching the area for speeders. Police aren’t releasing information at this time.

The car was towed from the scene around 10 p.m.
